About Us

Founded in 1998, The Respectful Workplace is dedicated to fostering effective communication and positive relationships in the workplace. Our mission is to enhance interactions through mutual respect and understanding while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. 

We provide customized interventions, investigations, facilitated discussions, one-on-one sessions, team meetings, presentations, and workshops focused on critical issues like disrespect, bullying, harassment, and discrimination. Our goal is to empower participants with the tools to create healthy, respectful workplaces.

The Respectful Workplace is led by Gerry Parker, principal consultant, an experienced senior leader with expertise in human resources, operations, strategic planning, safety management, performance engagement, and conflict resolution. He has a Master's Degree in Leadership, holds a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, and over three decades of relevant experience.

Specialties include human resources management, collective agreement negotiations, leadership development, team-building, and performance engagement. We appreciate the support of our clients and colleagues in promoting respectful work environments. 

Gerry is also a new author and is pleased to debut his three books as part of The Master HRtist Series. The books feature the ongoing challenges successfully being addressed by Victoria Timms and the ongoing support she receives from her new mentor, Hugh Mann, a seasoned HR professional.

Following my liver transplant surgery on April 17, 2025, I woke up in the ICU, free from liver cancer, and full of gratitude to the anonymous donor, healthcare professionals, my wife, kids, family, friends, colleagues, and supporters.


During my recovery, I set a big goal: write 3 books in 6 months. Many said it was impossible, but with a fresh start, I had a new focus. But… I'm thrilled to announce I did it! It’s my pleasure to announce that The Master HRtist Series is complete, and the journey is just beginning.


Book 1 - The Respectful Workplace, was published on September 30, 2025. Book 2 – PEPtalk, and Book 3 – IDEA, were both published on October 17, 2025, six months to the day following my surgery, and are also available in both print and Kindle versions.


This isn't just theory—these books are story-driven guides designed to fast-track your skill development as a more effective leader by utilizing an innovative form of knowledge transfer called time compression. If you're a new or seasoned leader facing today's toughest HR challenges, this trilogy is your essential roadmap.
